In 2023, Black Girls for Liberation launched a Period Poverty Initiative in Ghana, partnering with a Black-owned business providing menstrual hygiene products to address menstrual inequities and support Black girls in the community. Through donations of products and funds, BGfL delivered essential resources to schools in Ghana and facilitated a workshop designed to create a space of affirmation, joy, and connection for Black girls.
This initiative reflects BGfL’s broader commitment to building relationships and fostering liberation across the diaspora of Black girls. Recognizing the shared challenges of misogynoir, anti-Blackness, and systemic inequities, BGfL remains dedicated to creating spaces for affirmation, dreaming, and identity development—both locally and globally.
